First Place 2006 SIGTel Online Learning Award for Galileo
Each year the Special Interest Group for Telelearning (SIGTel), a Special Interest Group of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), recognizes creative educators for their pioneering use of telelearning activities to provide innovative learning opportunities for students in Grades K-16. This year the, The Calgary Stampede and Treaty 7 First Nations: A Historical Perspective will receive this 2006 SIGTel Online Learning award in San Diego July 5 - 7, 2006 at NECC (National Educational Computing Conference).
In May 2006, Our Roots launched its new web site, designed to be more accessible for all users. The Our Roots project is the world’s largest digital collection of published Canadian local histories. Thousands of French and English titles are now available online and the collection continues to grow.
